Murder: Age to prosecute as an adult

Every time I read an article in a newspaper or magazine concerning the age of a young person (14-17) committing a murder and not being prosecuted as an adult I feel sick. I believe that when a minor plans and carries out an act of murder there needs to be the strongest form of punishment applied. I don’t mean strapping a juvenile on to a table and using the chemicals we use now to execute him or her… no that is not what I’m advocating. The time for the execution should be timed to occur one day after the murderers eighteenth birthday. This little change in our laws would go a long way toward showing both families that the child who committed the act, regardless of age, would get the ultimate penalty for their crime.

There are going to be those who will argue that a child (below 18 yoa) does not understand what they are planning, nor do they understand the act itself as the ending of a human life. Those who want to try to rehabilitate the child into a productive person are kidding themselves and are taking a big chance that the rehabilitated child/person will not kill again. These kind-hearted folks are allowing the now rehabilitated person to fall into the same problem areas minus the players from before, and will allow them to make the same choices and murder again.

I  do not support life in prison with no chance of parole, we do nothing more than allow the prisoner to live to a ripe old age at the cost of the taxpayers.

These are my beliefs and feelings, good or bad.  The ball (your beliefs and feelings) is in your hands ready for you to express on your blog.

Have a good evening, Karmadoc

Firearms

I wanted to start this blog with something controversial, other than politics.

It hasn’t been more than a day (Wednesday 14, 2017) since James T. Hodgkinson tried to reduce our government by shooting a few Republican members of Congress. I’m not completely clear why he decided to take on the Republican side of Congress in this manner and at 4:00 AM, was he planning to visit the Democrats too? If he had waited a few hours he may have had better luck with visiting Republicans who came to watch. I played baseball during my years in school (and after school) but I cannot remember ever being on the field at 4:00 AM, no one loves baseball that much.

I also have to wonder why no one saw Mr. Hodgkinson walking around (outside) a sports field with a rifle, what were the security guards doing, eating donuts and drinking coffee?  There must have been more people around watching these skinny old men play ball. The news media must have had at least one reporter, with camera, recording for posterity our law-makers trying to hit a ball and run (walk) around the bases. I am thinking that these guys (women?) would have had their staff, with cameras, there on the off-chance that someone hit the ball or made a dramatic catch.

Your probably asking what does this commentary have to do with firearms? Just think if there had been a few citizens with permits to carry watching our Congressmen practice their game at 4:00 AM. What if security had been better there may not have been anyone hurt.

New Beginnings

June 14, 2017 11:37 PM PST

I’ve been writing on WordPress for a while (years) and quit a few months ago because what I was writing was getting old and stale. At that time I was having PTSD issues (make war no more) and ongoing problems with Diabetes and Parkinson’s Disease, not a fun time.

I know the few readers that were still with me (Thank You) were getting tired of the same old drivel, so now I am going to start anew. I’ve toyed with deleting the site and giving up, but I did not like that idea. I have decided to clean out all the old files and ideas from the corners of the room and my head, a dusting out if you will and start an unconventional writing project.

Starting tomorrow (evening) I will be writing fresh and new (at least for me) concerning all topics with some not-so-predictable commentary on local, national, and international ideas and happenings. There is no topic that will be off-limits and what I write concerning all that is out there will be what I think and believe.

To all the old (not age) readers thank you for giving me another chance, and to the newbies, I think you will be either delighted, angry, or in wonderment that a person with my way of thinking still exists.

Until tomorrow, good night.
